Ipswich Town's on-loan striker Shefki Kuqi could return to training on Thursday after recovering from a hamstring injury.

The Crystal Palace forward limped out of the derby win over Norwich City after just 36 minutes.

Manager Jim Magilton hopes the Finland international, 31, will be available for Saturday's trip to Preston.

He told the club website: "He'll train today and if he comes through that he will be in contention for Saturday."

He added: "Shefki has worked closely with our medical team on his recovery over the last week or two and is desperate to get back playing."

Ipswich head into the game at Deepdale three points outside the play-off places with just two games to play.
