Jordan Rhodes has scored 41 goals so far this season |
Ipswich youth striker Jordan Rhodes has set his sights on scoring 50 goals by the end of this season. The-18-year-old has been prolific at youth and reserve levels and needs just nine more to reach his half century.
He also has the rare distinction of scoring in both the FA Cup for Oxford United and the FA Youth Cup for Ipswich in the same season.
The England youth international also managed to score six times in a reserve game against MK Dons in January.
Despite making his first team debut last December he has yet to start a senior match for Ipswich.
But Rhodes told BBC Radio Suffolk he understands the club's decision to ease him into Championship football.
"I might just have to wait my time, get used to the reserves, get used to the first team and then hopefully my chance will come from there," he said.
Injuries to Jon Walters and Shefki Kuqi mean that Rhodes is likely to keep his place on the bench for Saturday's game at Scunthorpe United.
