Nugent has not been able to settle at Fratton Park |
Ipswich have approached Portsmouth about a three-month loan deal for striker David Nugent. The 22-year-old scored Pompey's winner against the Suffolk side in the FA Cup in January but has struggled since a 6m move from Preston.
"Nugent is a possibility," boss Jim Magilton told the Ipswich Evening Star. "We have asked about taking him on loan and Portsmouth have not ruled it out."
Nugent is currently recovering from hernia surgery but is nearing fitness.

Magilton added: "We are well aware if he did come he is not at 100% but he is making massive strides to get fit so we will wait and see what happens.
"He loves Portman Road and he loves scoring goals here so it would be good to have him in a Blues shirt."
