Bywater started his at Rochdale before moving to West Ham |
Ipswich Town have completed the loan signing of Derby goalkeeper Stephen Bywater until the end of the season, with a view to a permanent move. The 26-year-old had been with the Rams since joining from West Ham in the summer of 2006.
Also joining on a short-term deal until the end of the season from Barnsley is fellow keeper Nick Colgan, 34.
"We're delighted to have Stephen with us," Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told the club's official website.
"He is a young, ambitious keeper who knows what is needed to win promotion from this division."

Bywater started his career as a trainee at Rochdale before moving to West Ham and playing 59 times for the Hammers.
He was a regular in the Rams side that won promotion to the Premier League last season via the play-offs.
Republic of Ireland international Colgan had been transfer-listed by Barnsley earlier this month.
Ipswich have seen two keepers leave Portman Road in the past two days - with Neil Alexander moving to Rangers and Shane Supple joining Falkirk on loan.
