Sheringham Jnr staying at Ipswich
Ipswich have handed young striker Charlie Sheringham - son of former England international forward Teddy - a new 12-month deal at Portman Road.

The 17-year-old joined Town on trial in December, but has impressed boss Joe Royle and academy director Bryan Klug.

"I'm thrilled to be staying - it's up to me now to take that opportunity," Sheringham told Ipswich's website.

"Being a professional footballer is what I want to do and Ipswich have given me the platform to do that."
