Hogg made 172 appearances in his time at Hibernian

Inverness Caledonian Thistle manager Terry Butcher has swooped for defender Chris Hogg following the player's release by Hibernian.

The 25-year-old made 172 appearances for the Easter Road club since being signed by Tony Mowbray in 2005 and was made team captain four years later.

But he fell out of favour under manager Colin Calderwood and has signed for Inverness until the end of the season.

Hogg joins Alex MacDonald and Aaron Doran as the Highlanders' new signings.
