Hull City are preparing to make offers for two new strikers after the takeover of the club went through.

Assem and Ehab Allam were introduced as the Championship club's new owners on Friday and immediately gave boss Nigel Pearson the go-ahead for the bids.

Head of Football Operations Adam Pearson told BBC Radio Humberside: "We need to bolster our options.

"We'll be going out next week and putting offers in for a couple of centre-forwards."

He added: "We know the team needs goals and we've known it right from the summer that the team had no goals in it."

Swindon striker Charlie Austin and Leicester's Matt Fryatt, who Hull manager Nigel Pearson worked with during his time at the Foxes, are believed to be high on the wanted list for the Tigers.

"Charlie Austin is obviously scoring goals and is a good player but we've got a list of six centre-forwards and we're working down them," Adam Pearson said.

Ehab Allam told BBC Radio Humberside: "They [Adam and Nigel] have come to us with their first and second options and we have agreed to accept both so they are proceeding with their preferred options."
