Hull continued their impressive recent form as Jay Simpson's double fired them to a comfortable win over Bristol City.
Simpson grabbed his first goal in a Hull shirt when he finished off after sterling work from Cameron Stewart.
The former Arsenal striker doubled his tally midway through the second half when he fired home from 15 yards to extend their unbeaten run to six games.
Midfielder Danny Rose's effort from long distance was the nearest the visitors came to registering a reply.
The win sees Hull move above the visitors in the table, with the Robins seeing a run of three straight wins abruptly ended at the KC Stadium.
Hull began well with Kamil Zayatte testing David James with a 20-yard free-kick, but the England international keeper was equal to it and turned the ball over.
The visitors could have led when the unmarked Steven Caulker blazed over at the far post from a Craig McAllister corner.
But Hull made the most of their reprieve and took the lead when on-loan Manchester United youngster Stewart went on a driving run down the left and sent over an inch-perfect cross for Simpson to turn the ball home at the far post.
Stewart should have doubled their lead when he ran clean through on goal, but lifted the ball over James and wide of the post.
On-loan Arsenal stopper Vito Mannone was finally called into action after the break as he scrambled to keep out a fizzing 25-yard shot from Rose and the ball dropped just wide for a corner.
David Clarkson had a gilt-edged chance for the Robins when he failed to get his free header on target, instead glancing over the bar.
Hull secured the points when McAllister tried to clear a through-ball but only succeeded in setting up Simpson, who had no trouble firing home from just inside the area.
