'Massive fight' ahead for Tigers

Former Hull City player John Anderson expects a "massive fight ahead" for the Tigers to stay in the Premier League.

Anderson, at Hull when they moved from Boothferry Park to the KC Stadium six years ago, insists the club have earned the right to play with the elite.

He told BBC Look North: "It's definitely a massive fight ahead because the Premier League is full of great players.

"It's a massive step up from the Championship but they've earned it."

Anderson knows all about a gulf in class from his days in the Scottish Premier League when he played for Livingston against the likes of Rangers and Celtic.

But the 35-year-old former defender, who these days earns a living as a sports coach and college lecturer, hopes the side can last as a Premier League outfit beyond the end of the season.

"Phil Brown knows it's going to be hard," he said. "But he'll be relishing it.

"Why shouldn't they do it and become an establish Premier League team?

"The journey they've been on starting with Peter Taylor and back-to-back promotions, carried on by Phil Brown, I'm just delighted."
