Agar had two Wembley triumphs over Hull FC |
Former Hull KR favourite Alan Agar hopes Hull FC can upset the odds and beat St Helens at Wembley in Saturday's Challenge Cup final. Agar was part of the Rovers side which beat Hull in the 1980 cup final at Wembley and he is also the father of present Black and White coach Richard. "I will be wearing black and white for this game," Agar told BBC Look North. "I do hope that this is the first time that Hull FC manage to get a win at Wembley Stadium." Three years after Hull KR's 1980 cup success, Agar led Featherstone Rovers to a famous win over Hull as coach of the West Yorkshire club. He recalled: "1983 was probably my proudest moment, leading out my home town club at Wembley." Richard Agar was only appointed to the position of head coach in May following the shock departure of Peter Sharp. He said: "They were big experiences for all of us and I'm very proud of that fact. "We can create our own and my dad's very much behind us in the black and white corner."
