Ex-Tigers star predicts promotion
Ken Houghton
Houghton is hoping for Hull City to win promotion
Hull City all-time great Ken Houghton has said he is confident that the club will be promoted to the Premier League.

Houghton played in the team which finished fifth in the old Second Division in 1971.

He explained to BBC Look North: "I don't think I've seen a team better at home. It's in our hands now, we're in pole position.

The Tigers moved into sixth place - and into a play-off spot - following victory over Scunthorpe on Saturday.

The last time Hull finished as high was in 1986.

Houghton, who also managed the club, was thinking of the fans when he added: "It would be lovely for them to have Premiership football next season.

"I think the chairman would have to think about extending the stands. Hopefully we can get 40,000."
