Hull have rejected an approach by local rivals Grimsby to sign much-travelled striker Michael Bridges. Bridges, 28, includes Sunderland, Leeds, Newcastle, Bolton, Bristol City and Carlisle among his former clubs.
"Grimsby offered us a percentage of his wages for a loan (deal), but I don't think that is the way forward," boss Phil Brown told the Hull Daily Mail.
"At this time he seems to want to play for Hull - as long as he's showing that commitment, he'll be a Hull player."
Mariners boss Alan Buckley had revealed his interest in bringing Bridges across the Humber to Grimsby last week.
