Huddersfield Town chairman-elect Dean Hoyle has told BBC Radio Leeds he has not spoken to Aidy Boothroyd about becoming their new manager.
The former Town player, who was sacked by Watford earlier this week, has been installed as favourite for the job.
However Hoyle has said he has no number one in his mind yet, and that he is only just starting to compile a list of possible replacements.
Caretaker-manager Gerry Murphy has already said he does not want the job.
