Hoyle backs Ternent for success

Hoyle will take over from chairman Ken Davy at the end of the season

Huddersfield Town chairman elect Dean Hoyle has backed Stan Ternant to turn around the club's fortunes.

Ternent has won just four matches out of 13 since taking over, but Hoyle has compared his start to former manager Neil Warnock.

"When Neil came in he massively changed things and it was a disaster," Hoyle told BBC Radio Leeds.

"Then he got us to Wembley, and it turned. The next season we got promoted and I take reassurance from that."

After taking five games to claim a league win, Ternent's side has started to find form as they have won three of their last six League One matches.

Hoyle added: "Like Stan, Neil changed a lot of the squad and didn't go about making too many friends.

"But once everything settled down in the second half of the season we turned a corner and hopefully the same should happen again.

"We are under no illusions of the task ahead, but we have high expectations at the club.

"The minimum expectation is the play-offs and we'll do our best to get there."
