Terriers skipper to have surgery
Jon Worthington
Worthington has already undergone several hernia operations
Huddersfield captain Jon Worthington is to travel to Germany to have surgery on his troublesome hernia injury.

"He is scheduled for surgery on Tuesday so he is flying on Sunday and having a consultation with the surgeon on Monday," physio Lee Martin explained.

"We will have to remove some of the mesh that is currently in place to support Jon's stomach area.

"But the surgeon is confident that he will only be out for a couple of weeks," he told the club website.

Midfielder Worthington, 24, has had several hernia operations in the last few years and has not played since August because of the problem.

The surgeon in question, Dr Ulrike Muschaweck has previously operated on Michael Owen and Alan Shearer.
