Histon seal double defender deal

Adam Bygrave and Marlon Patterson
Bygrave and Patterson will add competition at the back for the Stutes

Histon have moved to bolster their squad with defenders Adam Bygrave and Marlon Patterson joining the club.

Bygrave, 19, has signed a two-year deal from Weymouth for 5,000 and Patterson, 25, has joined until the end of the season from Dagenham & Redbridge.

Boss Steve Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire that he wants cover in case the Stutes are forced to sell.

He said: "We need to try and get a foot in the door in case anything happens in terms of our star players."

Bygrave is a former Reading academy product and can play at centre back or on the right, whilst Patterson started out at Yeading and operates on the left.

Fallon has warned fans that he is anticipating offers for his star players during January transfer window.

"We are expecting offers for a couple of players, it could be two from five or six," he said.

"I wouldn't be surprised with some interest, but the chairman won't be letting anyone leave unless it is a massive advantage for us."

The likes of Danny Wright, Lanre Oyebanjo and Josh Simpson have all been in great form for the Stutes so far this season.

Histon are currently second in the Blue Square Premier.
