Histon midfielder Nat Knight-Percival says his side have wised up to struggling sides this season.
The Stutes dropped points to a number of sides in the bottom half of the Blue Square Premier last season and host out of form Oxford on Saturday.
Knight-Percival told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "When you come up against struggling sides you've got to concentrate and do your own thing.
"We've done work on combating all sorts of teams so we know what to do."
Oxford have only won once on the road in the division this season, whilst Histon have only lost once at home.
Three points on Saturday could put the Stutes top of the table and whilst Knight-Percival says talk of the league title is premature, he and his team-mates are feeling quietly confident.
"It's very early for anything really, but if we can keep this run going there is no reason we can't win this league."
