Histon midfielder Neil Andrews believes the two wins over Burton and Rushden & Diamonds at the weekend have shown his side are capable of a play-off finish.
Andrews made his first two starts this season for the Stutes in the victories that see them climb to 12th in the Blue Square Premier with eight points.
He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "I think the play-offs is a realistic aim for us after a tricky start.
"We've proven that we can handle the big guys in the league and get points."
The 29-year-old added: "I just want to stay in the team now and play as many games as I possibly can.
"It's the last year of my contract so I'm fighting for another contract."
After a couple of years heavily disrupted by a long-term knee injury, Andrews hopes to repay manager Steve Fallon's faith in him.
"He's supported me through all the knockbacks I've had and I just hope to give him something back," he said.
"I've worked hard and hopefully in my two performances I've proven to him that he's right and I can still add something to the squad at this level."
