Histon boss Steve Fallon has revealed the club are close to making their first signing of the close season.
Fallon aims to add to his midfield and forward options in time for the start of next season.
"We're hopeful that we've done enough to have got one already and then a couple more we're still working on," Fallon told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire.
"A deal is agreed in principle, but we will have to wait and see; the players keep their options open."
Despite remaining part-time for next season, the club are still hopeful of attracting the best talent available.
"It was always going to be difficult [to complete deals] because the players we are talking to are full-time, and we are not full-time," he said.
"We're talking about a league player dropping down and a couple of conference-standard players."
Fallon also revealed he expects league clubs to show interest in his star names, but refused to confirm if any firm enquiries have been made.
The Stutes management has previously insisted that no players will be sold cheaply to bigger clubs.
