Histon striker Danny Wright believes the club will be competing in the Blue Square Premier play-offs next season.

Last season's Conference South champions are set to miss out this season as they sit in seventh, eight points off the play-off places.

He told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire: "We had a good season this year and I don't see why next year we can't push for the play-offs and Maybe make the League.

"That is an ambition of mine and hopefully Histon's."

The 23-year-old believes manager Steve Fallon is always looking to push the club forward and feels next season will be no exception.

Wright said: "There have been so many promotions in the last few years and I don't see why next year should be any different.

"I think we've got the players. With maybe a few more additions we'll be a good force next year."

Wright has scored 13 goals in the league this season and has attracted interest from a handful of other Blue Square Premier clubs.

He admits he has been pleased with the interest: "It's always flattering to have other clubs come in for you.

"If a club came in for me I'd have to sit down with the chairman and see what he thought and what sort of club it was.

"It depends on what sort of offer it was and if it's the right thing for me."

But he added: "Hopefully I'll be playing for Histon in the Football League in two year's time."
