'Vital' win boosts Hibernian caretaker boss Stevenson
Alistair Stevenson won his first match as Hibernian caretaker manager
Hibernian caretaker Alistair Stevenson said his players were "sky high" after a morale-boosting win over Kilmarnock.
The Easter Road side came from behind to beat Killie 2-1 in Stevenson's first match in charge.
"I'm delighted with the result but I'm very pleased with the performance," he said. "The three points were vital.
"Those three points now take us beyond Kilmarnock, it gets us right up into the middle of the league and they can go on to build from there."
Youth coach Stevenson and reserve team coach Gareth Evans have been tasked with overseeing first-team matters until Hibs appoint a permanent replacement for John Hughes, who vacated the manager's role before the recent international break.
He showed fantastic resolution and determination to get up there for the goals

"We couldn't have had a worse start, losing a goal in the first minute or so, but to be fair, we came back really well," said Stevenson.
"We tried to keep at them, keep concentrating, keep trying to get forward and gradually got a wee hold of the game and we came back into the game, got an equaliser and scored again before half-time so we're absolutely delighted with that.
"One or two of the boys back after injury were tiring as the game went on but I thought they showed great courage and resolution and the fans were fantastic. The fans carried them over the finishing line, they were right behind us."
Captain and defender Chris Hogg was restored to the Hibs starting line-up and scored both of the home side's goals before being withdrawn midway through the second half.
"He's definitely got to be considered as an overlapping full-back," joked Stevenson.
"It was a chance (to play him), he was running out of legs in the second half because he's had a wee spell out. But we thought he did fantastic to get the goals. He was a wee bit disappointed at the loss of the first goal but he showed fantastic resolution and determination to get up there for the goals.
"For the defenders, apart from that early goal, it was as good as a clean sheet, they defended very well. They put their bodies on the line and defended with pride and that got us through and we were still trying to create."
