Yantorno signed for Hibs after being released by Gretna
Hamilton Accies' hopes of taking Hibernian midfielder Fabian Yantorno on loan from Hibernian have been dashed because of red tape.
Hibs had allowed the Uruguayan, 26, to join Accies, but SPL rules state that member clubs can have only one over-21 player on loan from another Scots club.
Hamilton have already taken Paul McGowan, 21, on loan from Celtic.
"The deal won't go through. We're a wee bit frustrated and disappointed," said Accies boss Billy Reid.
Hibernian wanted midfielder to gain match-fitness at New Douglas Park until the end of the season.
Yantorno has struggled to make an impact in Edinburgh since signing in the summer while recovering from a serious knee injury.
But since Accies have already signed midfielder McGowan, they would have had to buy Yantorno on a permanent basis.
