Shiels was on target against Celtic back in September |
Hibs manager John Collins has no plans to move on Dean Shiels in January and insists he is looking to add to his squad, not deplete it. The midfielder has not started a league match this season and has only made five SPL appearances as a substitute.
"We don't want to sell anyone at this moment in time," Collins told the Edinburgh Evening News.
"It's really the time to invest rather than sell. Dean still has a future and will be involved this weekend."
Hibs visit Celtic on Saturday, looking to arrest a slump in form, which has seen them take just six points from a possible 24 and fall back to fifth spot in the SPL.
The Easter Road side will be hoping for a repeat of their 3-2 win in September, when Shiels scored the winner.
The 22-year-old former Arsenal trainee from Magherafelt, Northern Ireland, moved to Easter Road in 2004 and has a year-and-a-half left on his current contract.
