Hereford goalkeeper Dan Connor suffers freak hip injury
Davey may register goalkeeping coach Russell Holt as a player
Hereford United goalkeeper Dan Connor has sustained a freak hip injury when getting out of his car.
Bulls manager Simon Davey told BBC Hereford and Worcester: "We've had the results of scans but are waiting to see a consultant to see how severe it is.
"He did everything all week and got out of the car on Saturday night and something popped in his hip and he has been in hospital all week."
The 29-year-old only signed for Hereford during the summer.
He was previously with Peterborough United and has represented the Republic of Ireland at Under-21 and B international level.
Speaking to consultants they say it can happen to anybody at any stage and sometimes it is just the way you get out of a car

Connor, who signed a two-year deal at Edgar Street, has endured previous hip problems.
But Davey said: "He had an operation about three or four years ago in that area but since then he has played 70-odd games since then.
"He has had no problems whatsoever and has come through everything and not looked as though he has been carrying it at all in training.
"Speaking to consultants they say it can happen to anybody at any stage and sometimes it is just the way you get out of a car.
"Unfortunately that's what he did - he got out of the car in a strange way and something has popped," he added.
With Connor likely to be sidelined for some time, Adam Bartlett is now the only experienced goalkeeper on the Edgar Street playing staff.
Despite this, Davey says he will not be rushing into the market to bring in cover but will instead be turning to his coaching staff to fill the breach.
"We have two recognised keepers on the staff so it is a conversation I might have to have with [goalkeeping coach] Russell Holt over the next 24 hours," he said.
"We also have Tom Whittaker our fitness coach who is a goalkeeper.
"So it is not something that is going to be a major problem that would lead me having to dip into the market as I have staff who can fit in."
