Keith Lowe joined Hereford United from Kidderminster Harriers in July
Hereford United defender Keith Lowe admits that the Bulls were 'devastated' by Saturday's 1-0 FA Cup exit.
After going down to a goal four minutes into injury time against League One Colchester, wing back Lowe felt his side had done enough to deserve a draw.
"We've put in a lot of effort against a team doing really well in the league above," he told BBC Hereford and Worcester. "And we coped really well.
"That lapse in concentration at the end and teams with quality punish you."
Lowe added: "The lads are devastated to come away with nothing.
"We had to go for it - it's the FA Cup.
The best thing that can happen is having a game on Tuesday. That will help us forget about it
Hereford defender Keith Lowe
"Everybody wants to get one of the big boys in the next round and we're not going to get the opportunity.
"There were just 25 seconds left after they scored. It just rubs salt into the wound."
The Bulls now travel to Northampton Town for Tuesday night's League Two clash (1 December, 1945 GMT).
And Lowe admits that it will be good to get another game so soon after Saturday's disappointment.
"I think the best thing that can happen is having a game on Tuesday," he said. "That will help us and we can forget all about it."
