Bulls boss Trewick lands quartet

Adam Bartlett
Bartlett did not miss a single league game for Kidderminster

Hereford United have signed midfielders Kenny Lunt, Jamie Tolley and Glenn Southam and goalkeeper Adam Bartlett as boss John Trewick re-builds his squad.

Lunt, 29, joins the Bulls after being released by Sheffield Wednesday, while Tolley, 26, was a free agent after leaving Macclesfield Town.

Highly-rated England C international Bartlett, 23, was released by Kidderminster for cost-cutting reasons.

Southam, 29, played over 200 games for Dagenham and Redbridge.

Former Newcastle United youngster Bartlett was voted Blue Square Premier goalkeeper of the year and was an ever-present for Kidderminster last season before appearing in the play-off final on an emergency loan at Cambridge United.

Glen Southam
Southam 15 goals in 186 league game for Dagenham and Redbridge

Bulls boss John Trewick told BBC Hereford and Worcester:

"I know his history. He was at Newcastle from 9 to 10 years of age until 18 and I know the goalkeeping coach who looked after him.

"I have monitored his progress for a long time and he's coming in as number-one goalkeeper.

"I've spoken to him about it. I'm delighted to welcome him to the club and I'm sure he'll do very well for us."

Play-maker Lunt will add great experience to the Hereford midfield after clocking up more than 450 career games for Crewe and Wednesday, while Tolley has made almost 250 league appearances after starting his career at Shrewsbury Town.

Southam, who was released by Dagenham at the end of last season after five years with the Essex club, started his career with Fulham as a youngster before joining Tottenham.

Trewick added: "Glen is a good player, capable of scoring goals from midfield and he can play in a number of positions including attacking midfield.

"I remember when he has played against us in the past and I think he will fit in with the way we want to play".
