Hereford United manager Graham Turner has hit out at international planners after losing one of his players for the game at Lincoln on Easter Monday.
On-loan Stephen Gleeson will join the Republic of Ireland Under-21 squad for a game against Montenegro on Tuesday.
"I can't for the life of me understand how there are international matches in Easter week," commented Turner.
"He will be out for the Lincoln match and you never know what transpires - injuries, anything could happen.
Gleeson is on loan from Wolves and Turner says he wants to keep the 19-year-old Dubliner at Edgar Street.
"We are hoping he might stay with us after his loan is over," said Turner. "But there is a lot of football to be played between now and the end of the season.
"We will make enquiries with Wolves and the lad himself because I would think he wants to play."
