Manager Csaba Laszlo will consider his future at Hearts after he finds out what support he has from the club during the January transfer window.

"This will be the answer for me in what direction the club wants to go," Laszlo, who lost 12 players in the summer, told BBC Scotland.

"I would like to see something, I would like to see progress.

"I want to stay for a long time but I want to see behind me people working hard and helping me achieve something."

In August, Laszlo revealed that he was stalling on discussing the possibility of a contract extension from club owner Vladimir Romanov.

He was frustrated at the lack of funds he had to strengthen his side, particularly in the forward areas.

Romanov later hit back, saying Laszlo had failed to identify signing candidates of sufficient quality.

Laszlo steered Hearts to a third-place finish in the Scottish Premier League last term but the squad has been trimmed significantly, with the likes of Christophe Berra, Robbie Neilson, Bruno Aguiar and Christos Karapidis moving on.

The Tynecastle outfit have made a sluggish start to this campaign and sit ninth in the league after nine games.

"It's not good for a manager to bring through players and then see them go on to other clubs," said Laszlo, who will have 18 months of his contract to run come January.

"The tools for success are the players and if you don't have the quality you win nothing.

"I don't like to talk negatively about the situation but, in the long-term, every manager would like to be better than ninth in the league, he would like to win things.

"This is not against anyone, this is normal. If this is not in your blood, it's not okay."
