Hearts manager Csaba Laszlo has further bolstered his squad by signing Dawid Kucharski from Lech Poznan.
The 24-year-old defender spent three years with Poznan and won the Polish Cup with his former side last season.
Kucharski also gained Uefa Cup experience with Amica Wronki, where he began his career as a 17-year-old.
He becomes the Edinburgh club's third new signing of the close season after midfielder Ian Black and Spanish winger Suso Santana.
As well as the new faces, Hearts have welcomed back Jose Goncalves back after the Portugal Under-21 international spent a season on loan at Nuremberg.
