Pinilla played for 55 minutes at Love Street

The 23-year-old Chilean played for 55 minutes of the Edinburgh side's second string defeat at St Mirren.

Pinilla has not played for Hearts for over a year, having returned to Universidad de Chile on a six-month loan in January.

His summer return to Scotland was then hampered by a wrist injury that required surgery.

Pinilla, who has been on the books of Inter Milan, Celta Vigo and Sporting Lisbon, first arrived at Tynecastle in July 2006.

But he has made just six appearances for Hearts, scoring twice and picking up one red card.
