Brellier is likely to leave Tynecastle in the summer |
Hearts say they have offered midfielder Julien Brellier better terms than his current contract - but are resigned to him leaving in the summer. The 25-year-old Frenchman, who was bought by former boss George Burley in 2005, said last week the Tynecastle club had not offered him new terms.
But interim manager Anatoly Korobochka told the club website Brellier had rejected an improved contract offer.
"The terms were much higher than his current contract," Korobochka said.
He added: "In the end Julien decided not to accept the new contract offer that was given to him.
"I would not like to talk about the actual terms of that contract, it's not my place to judge that."
Brellier, who joined Hearts on a free transfer from Inter Milan, has been linked with former boss Burley, now in charge of Championship side Southampton.
