Hartlepool boss Chris Turner eyes late promotion bid
Turner has been irritated by the amount of postponements
Hartlepool United director of sport Chris Turner believes his players have the chance to challenge for promotion to the Championship.
Pools lie 11th in League One and Turner believes his side have the potential to launch a late play-off bid.
"If we can get there or thereabouts with eight games to go, who knows what we might do?," he told BBC Tees.
"We'll have played all the big hitters home and away and we'll be playing teams we're quite capable of beating."
Pools have suffered injury problems this season, with strikers Denis Behan and James Brown out, although the break in fixtures has given some a chance to recover.
"Sam Collins and Gary Liddle are in contention for the Charlton game, Denis Behan has done some cardiovascular work and James Brown is only a couple of weeks away," Turner said.
"We're getting back to full strength in terms of the squad."
Last Saturday's trip to Charlton has been re-arranged for next Tuesday, while this weekend's home visit of MK Dons will go ahead.
