Hartlepool complete Joe Gamble deal from Cork City
Gamble had been on trial at Victoria Park from Cork City
Hartlepool have signed Cork City midfielder Joe Gamble for an undisclosed fee.
The twice-capped Republic of Ireland player, 27, had a three-year spell at Reading between 2001 and 2004.
Pools director of sport Chris Turner said: "Joe's a ball-winning, passing midfielder who will give us some good experience in the squad.
"I felt he is the type of player we've been lacking and we're delighted to bring him to Victoria Park."
Gamble will link up with former Cork team-mate Denis Behan and has been on trial at Victoria Park since last month.
He began his career with Cork City in the League of Ireland, before earning a switch to Reading in 2001.
However in three seasons at the Madjeski Stadium, the midfielder failed to make his first-team debut and returned to Cork, where he earned international honours for the under-21, B team and full squad under former Republic boss Steve Staunton.
