Hartlepool United director of sport Chris Turner has reassured his fringe players that they will get their chance to impress at some stage this season.

Pools' decent form has led to a settled first 11 but Turner says the busy schedule in the Football League means having a strong squad is a necessity.

"This is going to be a long season, where players who don't feature at the moment will feature," he told BBC Tees.

"When they get in it's up to them to keep the shirt, we've a good spirit."

Pools are still awaiting a first home win of the season, having lost three and drawn one of their four home matches so far this season.
