Neil Austin quits the Arena after 70 appearances for the Quakers
Hartlepool United have signed Darlington defender Neil Austin.
Austin, 26, departs the Arena after two years with the Quakers, having been signed by former manager Dave Penney from Barnsley in June 2007.
Capable of playing on either side at full-back, Austin was nominated in the PFA League Two team of the Year for the 2008/09 season.
He is the sixth player to quit the financially-troubled club since the end of the season.
Alan White joined Blue Square Premier side Luton Town earlier this week, while Rob Purdie, Ricky Ravenhill, Ryan Valentine and Jason Kennedy have also left.
