Hamilton Accies have signed Argentine striker Damian Casalinuovo from Dundee United on a two-year deal.
Accies made an undisclosed bid for the 23-year-old on Tuesday and completed the deal late on transfer deadline day.
Casalinuovo joined United in July 2009 under now Scotland manager Craig Levein and he spent a brief time on loan with First Division outfit Raith Rovers.
He was was previously with Platense in his homeland, having also spent time with Valez Sarsfield.
"Damian is a strong lad who needs to be playing first team football," Accies boss Billy Reid told the club website.
"He did well in his limited opportunities at Tannadice, scoring eight goals, and now can't wait to get started at Accies.
"He'll be able to fit into our system and play as the lone striker but he's a strong lad who can run the channels as well.
"We really needed to strengthen that area of the team, although I think that Nigel Hasselbaink's performance at Inverness showed that he's a great prospect too.
"At 23, Damian is at a good age but still has scope for improvement and he's very pleased to have signed a two-year deal with us.
"He was unfortunate at Dundee United as they had several strikers to choose from but he still caught the eye and if he can do as well for Accies as he did for United then I'll be very happy."
