Cerny ended speculation over his future after signing a new deal

Hamilton goalkeeper Tomas Cerny has agreed a two-year permanent contract with the Scottish Premier League club.

The Czech, who had been linked with Celtic and Rangers, has been on loan from SK Sigma Olomouc since 2007.

"He has signed a two-year extension with us and has a big future with Hamilton," said New Douglas Park chairman Ronnie MacDonald.

"Tomas will not be going to the Old Firm or anywhere else, I'm absolutely certain of that."

Cerny, 23, helped Billy Reid's side gain promotion to this season's SPL, where they are currently 10th and six points clear of the relegation spot.

"He's happy in Scotland and settled with Hamilton," added MacDonald.

"Tomas has been the best keeper in the SPL this year and, as a club we want to continue going forward so why would we allow him to go?"
