Derek Asamoah will stay with Hamilton until the end of the season
Hamilton Accies have signed former Northampton striker Derek Asamoah until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old Ghanaian, who also had spells with Mansfield, Lincoln, Chester and Shrewsbury, most recently starred for Nice in France.
Hamilton Accies boss Billy Reid said Asamoah would bolster his attack.
"He's just an addition to the squad between now and the end of the season. We'll have a look at him and he'll have a look at us," said Reid.
Reid revealed he had been awaiting for clearance to sign the striker for several days.
We have struggled to score goals in recent weeks and Asamoah's definitely got a goal in him

Asamoah will add some firepower to the Accies' attack, with top scorer Richard Offiong facing another three weeks out with a knee injury.
"Richard's going to be missing for a few weeks so that's a big blow," added Reid.
Asamoah's transfer follows the arrivals of ex-Manchester United youth forward Christy Fagan and former Senegal captain Lamine Diatta.
"We have struggled to score goals in recent weeks," said the Accies manager.
"Asamoah's definitely got a goal in him, as has young Chris. He is another young lad of 19 and that's what the club's all about, bringing young players through."
