Hamilton Accies striker Richard Offiong has extended his contract with the New Douglas Park club.

The 24-year-old's new deal runs until the end of season 2009/10.

Offiong has scored four times for Billy Reid's side so far this season, including winning goals against Inverness and Kilmarnock.

The former Doncaster forward played a crucial role in Accies' First Division triumph last season, his 21 strikes helping secure promotion to the SPL.

The Englishman began his career as a youth player at Newcastle and has also had spells with Darlington, Motherwell and York.

He missed Saturday's 7-1 defeat to Rangers to attend the birth of his child.
