Grimsby's Dean Sinclair sets sights on FA Trophy run
Sinclair spent five months on loan at Grimsby in 2009
Grimsby Town midfielder Dean Sinclair believes the club can have a successful run in the FA Trophy this season.
The Mariners will face the winners of Tuesday's replay between Kettering and Chasetown following their 3-0 win over Redditch United on Saturday.
That game saw Sinclair play his first game for the club since returning to Blundell Park on a short-term contract.
"I think we've got a good chance of doing well this season," he told BBC Radio Humberside.
Sinclair has been without a club since his release by Charlton in the summer. The former Norwich trainee, who turns 27 on Friday, recently recovered from a knee operation.
However, he feels he is back to full fitness and ready to pick his career up once more.
It used to be the pinnacle of ones career to play at Wembley
Grimsby Town manager Neil Woods
"For me personally I'd like to win as many games as possible, get as many games under my belt as possible and obviously put us back into the Football League."
Grimsby manager Neil Woods echoes Sinclair's sentiments about the possibility of an extended run in non-league football's elite cup competition.
"It used to be, certainly when I played, the pinnacle of ones career to play at Wembley. Maybe a few more have played there since I started but I never got to," said Woods.
"I know it's early-doors but I'd love to lead a team out at Wembley and at this level it doesn't matter what team we put out or who we play against, it's about winning games."
