Ebbsfleet United midfielder Neil Barrett has been ruled out for the rest of the season.
He broke his jaw in two places while scoring in Ebbsfleet's FA Trophy semi-final first-leg defeat by Stevenage.
Manager Liam Daish told BBC Radio Kent: "I was worried straight afterwards, as we all were.
"My main concern is his welfare. He's had his operation now and he's being kept in hospital for three or four days until everything settles down."
Daish added: "I think he collided with a bit of everything - a head, shoulder, elbow, the lot. There was no malice [and] it was a great goal, not that he knew anything about it.
"Craig Stone broke his leg in the last round, so the FA Trophy has definitely come at a price for us."
Meanwhile, Ebbsfleet have extended the loan of Wycombe defender Leon Crooks for a third month.
