Boos affect Gillingham players - Andy Hessenthaler
Hessenthaler's Gills are yet to win this season
Gillingham boss Andy Hessenthaler has admitted that fans' booing is affecting his squad as they search for their first win this season.
The Gills were booed at half-time and at the final whistle as they lost 1-0 at home to Lincoln City at the weekend.
"It does affect the players but the fans have got a right to do what they do because they pay their money," Hessenthaler told BBC Radio Kent.
"It certainly doesn't help because we've got some young players here."
He continued: "I'm not going to knock the fans - I'm not that type of person because this club's a fantastic club.
We had a good year last year at home but perhaps the pressure wasn't on then when you're in a higher league and the expectation levels are not as high

"I understand their frustrations and if the players are performing they appreciate that."
The Gills travel to Morecambe on Saturday in search of their first away win for 15 months.
"We don't want to be saying that we want to get away from home and get results, we want to get results here," said Hessenthaler.
"We had a good year last year at home - only losing three games but perhaps the pressure wasn't on then when you're in a higher league and the expectation levels are not as high.
"This year at home the expectations are high and maybe the players are a bit nervous about that. We've got to get them out of that."
