Mark Stimson considers travel change for Gillingham

Gillingham manager Mark Stimson says his players could all have to travel on the team coach to future away games.

Many of the first team squad got stuck in traffic before their game at Leyton Orient on Tuesday meaning the Gills nearly had to start without a full XI.

Stimson told BBC Radio Kent: "We made the decision to travel individually and nothing's been made of that before.

"But if we've learned anything from this match, it's that we'll have to meet at a central point in future."

Traffic problems around Orient's Brisbane Road ground meant Stimson effectively had to pick the first 11 players that arrived at the ground.

But he defended the club's decision to tell the players to make their own way to the match.

Stimson said: "Dennis Oli lives two miles from Leyton Orient's ground, what was the point of making him travel 10 or 15 miles to meet the coach?"

Gillingham lost the game 3-1.
