Gillingham boss Mark Stimson told BBC Radio Kent: "First half we we were decent, we gave as good as we got and were a bit unfortunate to go in 1-0 behind.
"We said at half-time we have to keep it tight, keep believing and keep patient but we gave a way a poor second goal - free header at a corner.
"After that it was an uphill task. We made a couple of changes but it didn't quite work out."
