Scally gives Stimson his backing
Gillingham FC chairman Paul Scally
Scally is upset by the fans' lack of support for the club
Gillingham chairman Paul Scally has given his support to manager Mark Stimson, despite a run of just one league win in the last 13 games.

The team, manager and chairman were all jeered during the 3-0 defeat to fellow strugglers Crewe at the weekend.

Scally told BBC Radio Kent: "After Saturday, I'm disappointed, disillusioned, disenchanted and pretty disgusted by their reaction.

"You do not sack a manager after four months," he added.

Gillingham are currently four points adrift in the relegation zone of League One, having lost four games in a row.

I don't think you can blame the players or the manager frankly. It's just the situation we're in

Gillingham chairman Paul Scally

Scally said: "Mark has come into a very difficult situation, he has had a lot of internal politics to deal with - there have been a number of players that have caused a few problems around the club which is unacceptable."

Over Easter the Gills face the League's bottom two clubs, Bournemouth and Port Vale.

Stimson has mead it clear he feels his side need to get at least four points from those two games if they are to boost their survival hopes..
