Gillingham caretaker boss Ronnie Jepson has again hinted that he might like the manager's job permanently. But he told BBC Radio Kent: "You'll have to ask the chairman that. That's down to results and what he says.
"I've been given the job, whether that's as a caretaker or full-time, you'll have to ask him that. But I'm hopefully here for the long haul."
Jepson was named as caretaker by Gills chaiarman Paul Scally last week following Neale Cooper's resignation.
His latest game in charge saw the Kent club knocked out of the LDV Vans Trophy on penalties by Wycombe on Tuesday, and he admitted: "It's always disappointing when we lose a football game.
"We had enough chances to win, but if we'd lost and created nothing I would have been really disappointed."
