Boa Morte's injury is another blow to Fulham boss Chris Coleman |
Fulham have confirmed that striker Luis Boa Morte will be sidelined for six weeks with a fractured cheekbone. The club initially felt Boa Morte, 29, would be out for three to six weeks because of a clash of heads with team-mate Heidar Helguson.
Now Fulham boss Chris Coleman has said: "He can't even play with a mask to protect him because of the injury.
"It's quite deep set, so there's nothing we can do about it and he will be out for about six weeks."
Boa Morte is the latest addition to Fulham's lengthy injury list just five games into the new season.
Papa Boube Diop, Jimmy Bullard, Ahmad Elrich, Simon Elliott Mark Pembridge and Philippe Christanval are all receiving treatment.
Influential midfielder Diop and the versatile Christanval could return for Saturday's derby with Chelsea.
