The Werder Bremen player met manager Jean Tigana over the weekend to discuss a move to the London club, according to reports in Germany. The 33-year-old, who can also play in central midfield or as a left wing-back, announced his international retirement following this summer's World Cup. He made six appearances in the tournament, scoring once, and bowed out with a runners-up medal after playing in the final against Brazil. Overall, he scored 10 goals in 44 matches for Germany. Bode has played for Bremen since 1988 but said at the end of last season he would be leaving the club. |
