Krul will remain at Falkirk until the end of the season |
Falkirk's on-loan goalkeeper Tim Krul will remain at the club until the end of the season. Krul, 19, joined the Scottish Premier League club from Newcastle on a six-month loan deal in August.
Falkirk manager John Hughes told the club website that he was delighted to secure the Dutchman's services.
"It's great news because Tim has been excellent for us. I think the boy would agree that he's learning a lot as well as enjoying himself here."
Hughes said he was relieved that Krul's short-term future had been sorted out following protracted talks.
"It seems to have dragged on a bit, but at the end of the day you have to understand Newcastle are a massive club," the Falkirk manager said.
"It takes time for these deals to come through the system. We're just happy to have his services until the end of the season."
Krul was behind Shay Given and Steve Harper in the pecking order for a first-team place at St James' Park.
