Moutinho rejected offers from Portugal to stay with the Bairns |
Pedro Moutinho has ended speculation over his future by signing a new one-year deal with Falkirk. The Portuguese striker, 27, extended his contract on Wednesday after being granted time to mull over the offer.
"Although I had offers on the table in Portugal and elsewhere, I felt Falkirk was the best place to be," he said.
Falkirk head coach John Hughes said: "I'm delighted Pedro has chosen to stay with the club."
Moutinho, who joined Falkirk from Penamel in 2004, missed the start of pre-season training but trained with his team-mates at Stirling University on Wednesday.
Hughes said he was delighted the striker was staying and hoped he would stay injury-free next season.
"His talent is not in question, however, he's aware he must produce this more consistently this season and hopefully stay fit as he's been troubled by injury in previous seasons," added the head coach.
